After twenty-five years of autumn tradition, it’s time for another Oktoberfest on Sugar Mountain. Time for family and friends to join hands in song and dance, salute the fading summer, and herald in the change of seasons with an eye toward winter sports at Sugar Mountain Resort.
Oktoberfest’s annual date, the second weekend of October, almost always assures the timely appearance of the sugar maples’ brilliant mantel of color, setting once again, the autumn stage on Sugar Mountain.
Sugar Mountain Resort’s spectacular Fourth-of-July fireworks show can be viewed from the mountain’s 5,300′ peak on Saturday, July 2nd. The fireworks show, sponsored by the Village of Sugar Mountain Tourism Development Authority, will begin around 9:30pm. The Summit Express chairlift will run from 10:00am until 10:00pm on Saturday, July 2nd and Monday, July 4th for special mountain peak fireworks viewing.
Visit Sugar Mountain this summer. Every weekend beginning July 1 and ending Labor Day Sunday from 10am until 5:30pm Sugar’s high-speed, six passenger chairlift, the Summit Express, will transport guest’s to one of North Carolina’s highest peaks and back down again. Taking in the magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, leisurely strolls along the mountain ridge, intensive hikes, family time, alone time, indulging in a picnic, or just breathing in, over and over again the fresh, clean, mountain air are just a few ways to spend time on Sugar Mountain.
Spring skiing and riding is just around the corner and Sugar Mountain Resort is ready. Beginning Monday, March 7th skiers and snowboarders automatically receive twenty-five percent savings on lift ticket, rental equipment and lesson prices for the remainder of the ski season.
