Thanksgiving Turkey Treat
Plan to spend your Thanksgiving at Sugar this year. For one low price, you can ski/ride the 4 days of the Thanksgiving weekend, November 22-25, 2007 for just $109. Offer expires Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 5 pm.  If you order before Oct. 2, 2007 you pay only $89. Less than $23 a day! If we are not open because of weather, you can ski/ride any 4 non-holiday weekdays throughout the year!

Nastar
Nastar is a public racing program that provides recreational racers with the opportunity to compare their ability to the fastest member of the US Ski Team. Nastar races are held every Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon on Big Red.

SugarFest ''07
Equipment demos, giveaways, ice sculpting, bluegrass music by Boss Hawg, fireworks, the Edge of the World/Burton Rail Jam snowboard competition and more.  Back again by popular demand – the Extreme Ski/Snowboard Makeover Contest. Two lucky winners will receive everything from goggles and equipment to lift tickets, even free accommodations during SugarFest.

Snowshoe Guided Tours
A great way to stay fit during the winter months! Snowshoe tours will be offered every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 3 pm and Saturday at 9am and 3pm. Based on instructor availability, additional tours will be given on demand for groups of 4 to 15. The program includes a 1 hour tour and snowshoe rental. Cost is $20.  Adult tours are for 12 years or older.  Children’s tours are for 8-11 year olds.  Sign up at least 15 minutes prior to your tour time at the Ski/Snowboard School.

USSA Holiday Slalom and Giant Slalom Competition
Slalom and giant slalom races for licensed USSA racers. Juniors 1-6, and Masters. Registration follows USSA procedures. No registrations on race day. 9am start.

New Year''s Celebration
A New Year''s Celebration Mountain Style. The general public is invited, free of charge, to the torch light parade and fireworks at midnight. A fee as well reservations for the indoor festivities are required and should be made in early December by calling 828-898-4521 x233.

National Winter Trails Day – Winter Feels Good
The 13th annual National Winter Trails Day is coming back to Sugar Mountain Resort.  The event offers children and adults new to snow sports the chance to try snowshoeing for FREE. Discover the fun and fitness of snowsports.  Snowshoe rental and guided tours are free.  Guided tours are available at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm. The program includes a 1 hour tour and snowshoe rental. Adult tours are for 12 years or older.  Children’s tours are for 8-11 year olds.  Sign up at least 15 minutes prior to your tour time at the Ski/Snowboard School.

A Giant Slalom competition for all High Country junior racers.  Registration is from 7:30am-8:30am. Race start is 9am on Big Red.

A day celebrating Sugar Mountain''s resident mascot, Sugar Bear. Activities include The Great Bear Race with some of Sugar Bear''s friends, the Fun Course for kids to test their skills, special treats, cake and ice cream.

A giant slalom competition for participants with at least an intermediate or above ability level. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society in memory of Sugar Mountain''s former Director of Operations, Richard T. Trundy.

Weekend Scenic Lift Rides
Lift rides are available every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am until 5:30 pm.  Bring the whole family, a picnic lunch, your mountain bike, or just a friend and enjoy a breathtaking 45 minute roundtrip lift-ride to Sugar 5,300 foot peak.  The majestic scenery is worth it.  Special weekday lift ride dates include Thursday, July 3rd and Friday, July 4th.

4th of July Celebration and Showdown at Sugar National Mountain Bike Series Event (NMBS)
Sugar Mountain Resort and the Village of Sugar Mountain Tourism Development Authority (TDA) host an eventful 4th of July celebration weekend July 3-6, 2008.  International elite level mountain bike racing returns to the North Carolina mountains for Sugar’s first-ever 4th of July celebration.  The Showdown at Sugar, a long-established Eastern US event, is now in its 15th year as one of eight stops on the US National Mountain Bike Series tour.  Fireworks, day and evening lift rides, plenty of spectacular competition along with kid’s fun races, an expo center, food and drink, cool schwag, and live entertainment are some of the events planned this 4th of July weekend.  All levels of competitors are encouraged to compete and spectators always make the event more fun.
