March Madness Feeds Spring Fever Great Rates
and Good Times At Sugar Mountain Ski Resort
SUGAR MOUNTAIN SKI RESORT, NORTH CAROLINA – The best is yet to come when March Madness rates debut Monday, March 7th at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. The snow is deep and so are the discounts. You'll save 25% on lift tickets, rental equipment and lessons for the remainder of the ski season as the temperatures and the crowds moderate. Plus our popular Winter Value Packages are slashed 40% making spring skiing and riding more attractive than ever.
While you're here stop by Sugar Mountain Sports Shop's annual Spyder Sample Sale. Beginning Thursday, February 24th you'll find out it doesn't have to be expensive to look good. All 2012 Spyder Sample apparel is marked down 30%. Remaining 2011 Spyder Sample items are just half price and any remaining 2010 samples are marked down 60% from original retail prices. You won't find deals like this on the incomparable Spyder sportswear line anywhere else. Quantities and sizes are limited so don't miss out.
March Madness signals a new season and a new attitude. BOSS HAWG brings their distinctive brand of Blue Grass to the Sugar Mountain Lodge March 5th and 19th. Both shows begin at 4pm and deliver two hours of rousing, foot tapping music. Admission is free to this annual rite of spring.
On Sunday, March 6th we celebrate the life of the late Dick Trundy, a decorated Marine Corps General and aviator who served as Sugar Mountain's Director of Operations after his retirement from the service. The Dick Trundy Sugar Cup Giant Slalom competition is a NASTAR style competition open to skiers and snowboarders from the age of four to seniors 65 years and up. Event registration begins at 7:30 am with racing starting at 9 am on Big Red. All proceeds from entry fees go to the American Cancer Society.
March 6th also marks Sugar Bear's Birthday Celebration, another annual event that adds to the magic of the spring ski season at Sugar Mountain. Activities include the Great Bear Race, a magic show, special treats, and of course cupcakes and ice cream. Kids love this event and that always puts a smile on the adults, too. Please, no presents. Your presence is the ultimate gift on Sugar Bear's special day.
On Sunday, March 20th Sugar Mountain hosts the Fifth Annual Easter Egg Hunt right on the slopes. Dress up in your Easter Best costume and join Sugar Bear and Sweetie Bear in the snow in search of prize-filled eggs. Hundreds of colorful plastic eggs will be tucked away over the Lower Flying Mile slope within view of the lodge. One lucky skier or snowboarder will find the egg containing a 2011-2012 Sugar Mountain season pass. Another egg will hold $100 Scott gift card, but chances are good your child will find a treasure of their own. The Easter Egg hunt is free for all children 12 and under with valid lift/slope ticket, or pass. The event begins at 9 am at the bottom of the No. 1 Summit lift.
Don't miss out on this year's Rites of Spring on Sugar Mountain. There's plenty of snow and plenty of room to groove on the slopes during March Madness. With the lowest rates of the season, a festival air, and the promise of sunshine this just might become your favorite time of year, too.
