WHO'S WHO AT SUGAR MOUNTAIN RESORT

PRESIDENT
Gunther Jochl, a native of Austria, is beginning his 34th year at the helm of Sugar Mountain Resort. Mr. Jochl, who believes in a "hands-on" approach to managing, has actively been involved in all aspects of the ski industry. His constant pursuit of perfection is a result of his intense love and passion for the sport of skiing. It is the foundation of the company's culture. Mr. Jochl is an excellent skier and competes regularly in Sugar Mountain ski events.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Warren Hodges has been a loyal and dedicated employee of Sugar Mountain Resort since it opened in 1969. From 1991 to 2006 Mr. Hodges has been Sugar Mountain Resort's Ski Area Manager. Today his knowledge and long time experience make him an invaluable asset. Mr. Hodges diligently manages all outside operations and maintenance. He is currently the Director of Operations.

SKI AREA MANAGER
Erich Schmidinger was first employed at Sugar in 1995 as the Ski Club Director. In 1998 he filled the much-needed position as Night Manger. He continues to manage additional responsibilities which take him throughout the Resort's complex operation. Wherever Mr. Schmidinger is needed, you'll find him. He is currently the Ski Area Manager.

MOUNTAIN MANAGER
Steve Salmieri came to Sugar Mountain Resort in 1997 as a seasonal night lift operator. His reliability, diligence and conscientiousness moved him quickly to Lift Operations Manager in 2000. In 2006 Mr. Salmieri's responsibilities grew, placing him in the Mountain Manager's position. Currently his responsibilities include lift maintenance and inspection; personnel training, supervision and management.

SKI/SNOWBOARD SCHOOL DIRECTOR
Len Bauer's teaching experience has ranged from New England to the Southeast and spans 30 years. Even though this is his 19th year as Ski/Snowboard School Director at Sugar, he has been teaching here for 25 years and has served the Ski/Snowboard School as a Supervisor and as race coach. Mr. Bauer is a fully-certified level 3 PSIA instructor.

SKI AND SNOWBOARD PATROL DIRECTOR
Tommy Taylor began working at Sugar Mountain Resort in 1986 as a lifeguard. Year's later in 1998 he returned to Sugar to work as a ski school instructor, a rental technician and a ski patroller. In 2004 Mr. Taylor became the Assistant Ski Patrol Director. In 2008 he became the Director of Sugar's Ski and Snowboard Patrol. Mr. Taylor brings an outstanding work ethic to the position. He is trained in Outdoor Emergency Care and is an Emergency Medical Technician /B.

TUBING AND ICE SKATING MANAGER
Donnie Peters begins his 20th season at Sugar Mountain Resort. From 1990 until 2007 Mr. Peters managed Sugar's Equipment Rental and Repair Department. In 2007 he was promoted to the Tubing and Ice Skating Manager's position where he oversees the operation of both departments. He brings valuable experience, a "get it done" mentality and an accommodating, friendly personality to every position he holds at Sugar Mountain Resort.

RETAIL MERCHANDISE MANAGER
Laurel Smith, from Charlotte, North Carolina learned to ski during family vacations to Sugar Mountain Resort at the age of four. After graduating from the University of South Carolina in 2004, Mrs. Smith ventured back to the North Carolina High Country where she was employed by one of the area's top local ski shops. In 2007 she transferred her experience to Sugar Mountain's Sports Shop, working as a responsible and outgoing retail clerk. In 2008 Mrs. Smith was promoted to Sugar's Retail Merchandise Manager.

DIRECTOR OF GROUP SALES
Will Mitchell begins his 5th year as Sugar Mountain Resort's Group Sales Director. Before graduating from North Carolina's Appalachian State University in May of 2006, Mr. Mitchell spent the 2005-2006 winter season interning at Timberline Lodge and Ski Area in Timberline, Oregon. Today his responsibilities include the recruitment of group business and management of all group programs, off-site representation and promotions. DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND MERCHANDISING
Kim Jochl, a nine-year member of the United States Alpine Ski Team (1984-1993), brings unique experiences and diverse knowledge to Sugar. This is her 18th year at Sugar Mountain Resort. Her marketing and event duties include advertising, promotions, communications, event management, and special program development. SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR AND GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Kevin Lawrence began working at Sugar Mountain Resort in 1992 in the Group Sales Department and as an auditor. Currently he begins his 12th year as Sugar Mountain Resort's computer and network administrator. His responsibilities include graphic & website design, pc hardware maintenance, network installation and maintenance and everything in between. EXECUTIVE & FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR
Holly Green began her career at Sugar in 1991 as a Sugar Bear Ski School Instructor. She is now in her 12th year as Sugar's Financial Administrator and sixth year as the Administrative Manager. Her duties include office management, accounts payable, payroll, domestic banking, financial reporting as well as administering the company's insurance and 401K program.
