March Skiing And Riding Is More Attractive Than Ever
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, North Carolina. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 – March Madness means reduced prices beginning Monday, March 3rd at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy 25% savings on lift tickets, rental equipment and lessons for the remainder of the winter season. Plus Winter Value Packages are discounted 40%; making March skiing and riding more attractive than ever.
BOSS HAWG brings their distinctive brand of Bluegrass music to the Sugar Mountain Lodge Saturday, March 1st, 8th and again on closing day. Each show begins at 4:00pm and delivers two hours of authentic Southern Bluegrass music.
March 9th marks Sugar Bear’s Birthday Celebration. Another annual event that makes being at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort better than ever. Activities include the Great Bear Race, special treats, and of course cupcakes and ice cream.
On Sunday, March 9th Sugar Mountain Resort celebrates the life of Dick Trundy, a decorated Marine Corps General and aviator who served as Sugar Mountain Resort’s Director of Operations after his retirement from the service. The Dick Trundy Sugar Cup Giant Slalom competition is a NASTAR style competition open to skiers and snowboarders from the age of four to seniors 65 years and up. One-hundred percent of all $15 entry fees go to the American Cancer Society. Additional donations are always appreciated.
Sunday, March 16th Sugar Mountain hosts the Eight Annual Easter Egg Hunt right on the slopes. Dress up in your Easter best costume and join Sugar Bear and Sweetie Bear on the snow in search of prize-filled eggs. Hundreds of colorful plastic eggs will be spread over the Lower Flying Mile slope within view of the lodge. One lucky skier or snowboarder will find an egg containing a 2014-2015 Sugar Mountain winter season pass. The Easter egg hunt is free for all children 12 and under with a valid lift/slope ticket, or pass. Event line-up is at 9:00am at the bottom of the No. 1 Summit lift.
While you’re at Sugar Mountain stop by the Sugar Mountain Sports Shop’s for the annual Spyder Sample Sale. All 2015 Spyder Sample apparel is 30% off retail prices. Remaining 2014 Spyder Sample items are just half price and any remaining 2013 samples are slashed 60% off of original retail prices. Quantities and sizes are limited so don’t miss out.
Of course we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but summer is a wonderful time to visit Sugar too. Weekend scenic lift rides will begin on Friday, July 4th. To view the areas spectacular fireworks display atop Sugar’s 5,300 foot peak, lift rides will operate from 10:00am – 10:00pm on the 4th of July. BBQ Boot Camp is July 18 and 19. The annual SugarBrew festival will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014.
