Refreshing!
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, North Carolina. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 – This summer you can do lots of extra-fun, outdoor things on Sugar Mountain.
Sample an array of craft, import and domestic beer, wines & spirits at this year’s 3rd Annual SugarBrew festival, Saturday, August 2nd. Listen to live music performances by local favorites. A selection of American summer-time food will be available too. Of course all festivals at Sugar offer ski-lift rides to its 5,300 ft. peak.
Sugar’s 24th Annual Oktoberfest, Saturday and Sunday, October 11th & 12th is a weekend jam packed with an eclectic range of activities from 10:00am – 5:00pm. At the very least a visit to Sugar’s Oktoberfest is worth a Bavarian bratwurst and beer followed by a German waltz. Festival admission, parking and shuttle service are free!
BBQ Boot Camp! July 18th through July 19th the North Carolina Barbecue Society will host BBQ Boot Camp at Sugar Mountain Resort. Certified BBQ judge classes are destination events attended by barbecue and food enthusiasts from all over the world. For more information visit www.ncbbqsociety.com.
Speed your way down Sugar’s dirt trails on a mountain bike. We’ve put it on video for you; just in case you don’t make it up here this summer. Check it out, summit to base in five minutes. You’ll increase your heart rate just watching!
The trail system which intertwines throughout the Village of Sugar Mountain can be used by hikers and bikers alike. Trail heads are accessible from many points throughout the Village. Daily usage is free of charge May 1st through October 19th from dawn until dusk. Trail maps are conveniently located at the base of Sugar Mountain and online at www.skisugar.com/summer/trailmap.pdf.
Soak in nature’s beauty or feel the sensations of American patriotism as you watch the area’s 4th of July fireworks shows while relaxing in a lift chair on your way to Sugar Mountain’s 5,300 foot summit. Scenic chairlift rides operate every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am – 5:30pm Thursday July 4th through Labor Day Sunday, August 31st. One-time or all-day lift tickets are available as well as group tickets. Kids 4 and under ride free with a ticketed adult. New this year – on July 4th the Summit #2 chairlift will run until 10:00pm for fireworks viewing.
Wouldn’t it be adventurous and romantic to get married on top of one of North Carolina’s highest peaks? At Sugar’s 5,300 foot peak your once in a life-time, mountaintop event will be surrounded by blue skies, vast green slopes, lots of trees, comfortable temperatures, family, friends and nature the way it was intended. After the “I do’s” delight in a reception crafted to your personal preferences. Full-service reception options from pig-pick’in to white table cloth are available. After all, love is everything!
Purchase your family’s cold weather wear during Sugar’s 4th of July winter sale. Everything in the shop is on sale. The doors open on Friday, July 4th at 10:00am and close on Sunday, July 6th at 6:00pm. Daily sale hours are 10:00am – 6:00pm.
