Feel Winter at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, North Carolina. Friday, January 27, 2017 – Winter has returned to Sugar Mountain. The miracle of Mother Nature, technology, and man-power have covered the ski slopes with the playful white-stuff we all love.
Cold temperatures descended upon Sugar Mountain yesterday morning, giving way around the clock for the snow machines to work their magic. Snow making continues and is expected to churn out the frozen white-stuff into the foreseeable future. Moderate amounts of natural snow have fallen and are forecasted over the next several days.
To begin, expect four lifts and seven slopes covered with a twelve to thirty-six inch base of a man made, packed powder and frozen granular sliding surface. Additional terrain and lifts will open fairly quickly throughout the weekend.
Ice skating is also available and the tubing park is expected to reopen tomorrow.
